Kay Toalson Melton 71, of Dewey, died on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. on Monday, July 30,2012 at the East Cross United Methodist Church with Rev. Chad Perceful officiating. Interment will be in the Dewey Cemetery directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
Mrs. Melton was born in Tulsa on December 10, 1940. She grew up and received her education in Dewey graduating from Dewey High School in 1957. She attended the University of Oklahoma where she received her Associates Degree. She was married to Johnny Paul Melton on February 5, 1966 in Noel, Missouri. They made their home in the California Bay area where she was an accountant for a fertilizer company until her retirement in 2000. Mr. and Mrs. Melton returned to Dewey to make their home in May of 2003. She was a member of the Elks Club, Moose Club and country club all in Tracy, California, was a Kappa Alpha Theta Alumnae and a charter member of the East Cross United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Thomas Scott Wahnee-Toalson of Dewey, and a grandson, Andrew James Melton. She was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Lee Melton in 2006 and her parents.
