Gary R. Mann, 77, resident of Bartlesville, died at 1:02 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at the Bluestem Baptist Church with Pastor Bruce Almy officiating. Interment will be in the Dewey Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established and those who wish to make a contribution in memory of Mr. Mann may do so to: Bluestem Baptist Church, Building Fund, 327 E. Durham, Dewey, Oklahoma 74029.
Gary Ray Mann was born August 14, 1936 at Coffeyville, Kansas to Glen and Dorothy (Brawley) Mann. He grew up and received his early education in Coffeyville, Kansas and moved to Vinita, Oklahoma in 1951 and graduated high school there in 1954. Gary was married to Christine Nelson in 1954 at Miami, Oklahoma. Gary was employed with Mahoney's T.V. and Appliance Store in Vinita as a radio and T.V. repairman until 1963. They moved to Bartlesville in 1963 and Gary worked for Airco Heating and Air Conditioning. In 1969 he was employed for Dodson and Cochran Heating and Air Conditioning for 18 years. Gary opened his own business, Mann's Sheet Metal, in 1988 and retired in 1993 due to ill health. Gary was a member of the Bluestem Baptist Church in Dewey and a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union # 270 for 30+ years. Gary loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren he enjoyed playing guitar and singing, hunting, fishing and camping.
Survivors include his wife Christine Mann of the family home in Bartlesville; three sons Gerry Mann and his wife Charla of Bartlesville, Kenneth Mann and his wife Diane of Oklahoma City and David Mann and his wife Desi of Bartlesville; one daughter Donna Mann Smith and her husband Jim of Choctaw, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Gary was preceded in death by his parents. Friends who wish may sign the online guest book and leave condolences at www.stumpff.org
