Mr. Herbert E. Hays Sr., 64, of Bartlesville, went to his Father's house in Heaven at 5:48 A.M. on Friday, November 13, 2015 at the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa.
Graveside services for Mr. Hays will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Monday at the Dewey Cemetery with Pastor Jason Elmore and Herb Hays Jr. officiating. Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory. Friends who wish may call for visitation at the Stumpff Funeral Home until 9 P.M. on Sunday.
Mr. Hays was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on March 17, 1951 the son of Merle and Josephine (Dittman) Hays. He lived all of his life in Bartlesville, attended Bartlesville schools and graduated from College High School in 1969. He worked at Reda Pump for 4 years and was self employed in the oil producing and well servicing business since 1974. He married his high school sweetheart, Karen Sue Rainwater on November 6, 1969 in Independence, Kansas.
Mr. Hays is survived by his wife Karen Hays of Bartlesville, his two children, son, Herbert Lee Hays Jr. and his wife Karen of Dewey and daughter, Tina Renee' Tatum of Copan, six grandchildren, Jason Tatum, Jamie Tatum, Joshua Tatum, Chelsea Cox, Jeremiah Tatum and Justus Tatum, eight great grandchildren, two brothers, Merle E. Hays of Bartlesville and Clyde L. Dittman of Wann , two sisters, Shirley Shambles of Bartlesville and Mary O'Dell of Ochelata, and his mother-in-law, Mary Rainwater. He was preceded in death by his parents, a great grandson, Elijah Tatum and his father-in-law, Arthur Rainwater.
