A visitation will be held on Thursday October 11, 2018 at 6 PM at Stumpff funeral home in Bartlesville. A memorial service is set to be held Friday October 12, 2018 at 1 PM in the same location.
A private
family graveside service will be held at 3 PM at Dewey Cemetery.
Austin was born on July 2nd, 1951 in Sayre, OK, to Zelma and Tony Widener.
Right out of high school Austin served as a proud Navy serviceman during
the
Vietnam
War
on
the U.S.S. Saratoga. He was honorably discharged after the war and returned
home to begin his career as a draftsman for what became the Siemens
Corporation out of Bartlesville, OK. He retired after 41 years carrying with
him many good friends and memories. Austin was married to Marie (Currin) for
nearly 34 years. The two made a lifetime of memories fishing, bowling and
camping together; Even working at the same company for as long as they were
married. He also enjoyed 15 years with his beloved dog R.D, who passed away
in August 2018, sharing a comfy recliner and a few bowls of ice cream along
the way. He immensely enjoyed his time as 'Papa' to his 3 grandsons and was
wildly loved by them all.
Austin is preceded in death by his father Austin "Tony" Widener.
He is survived by his mother Zelma, wife Marie, sister Vickie Lockman and husband Rick of Bartlesville, son Kevin Widener and wife Liz of Dewey, daughter Amy Quick and husband Daniel of Elgin, IL, nephews Coy Lemond and Dewayne Lockman of Bartlesville, a great niece Kirah Lockman, a great nephew Okey Lemond and three grandsons, Matthew and Andrew Widener and William Quick.
