Margaret Louise Taggart
June 22, 1933 - September 17, 2023

Margaret L. (Maggie) Taggart, 90, passed from this life on Earth at her home in rural Copan, Oklahoma, on September 17, 2023.

Maggie was born in rural Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, on June 22 nd , 1933, to Edger L. (Pete) and Selma D. (Kindley) Key. She started school in Virgil, Kansas, and later went to school in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, for a short time before attending school in Dewey, Oklahoma, where she graduated in May 1951. The night she graduated, she left for El Paso, Texas, to be married to the love of her life, Bill Taggart. They were married on May 31st , 1951, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and were together for 66 years. Maggie went to work at First National Bank in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, in 1961 and retired as an Assistant Cashier in June 1983 after 22 years of consecutive service. She was a member of Dewey Church of Christ.

Maggie and Bill enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards and going to Branson, Missouri, for many years. But most of all she loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great- grandmother.

She is survived by her sons, William Taggart Jr. and his wife LaRue, Barry Taggart and his wife Melissa; her grandchildren, Bryan Taggart and Sheryl, Jennifer Carter and Kevin, J. R. and Kathleen Taggart, Blake Taggart, Tiffany and Josh Griggs. She had 19 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Clayton of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and special nieces and nephews.

Maggie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill; her parents; one brother, Ronald E. Key; and one sister, Jean Vermillion.

No public services are planned. Private family inurnment were held at Dewey Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Carter Davis and Davis Family Funeral Home-Dewey Chapel. Online condolences and remembrances may be made at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
