STUMPFF FUNERAL HOME
BARTLESVILLE, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)

Mrs. Virginia L. Sprague, 87, of Bartlesville, died at 9 P.M. on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the Brookdale South Senior Living facility.

Graveside funeral services for Virginia L. Sprague will be held at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the Dewey Cemetery with Pastor Darryl Wootton of the Spirit Church officiating. Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

In lieu of flowers the family has expressed a desire that donations might be made in her memory to the Agape Mission. In life, our mother fed many souls at her table. It is our wish that through donations of friends and family she might be able to continue making sure people are fed.

Virginia L. Seybert was born November 27, 1929 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma (Washington County) to Neva M. (Blunk) Seybert and James B. Seybert. She began her education at Lincoln Elementary in Bartlesville and went on to what is now Central Middle School. During that time period the family relocated to California. They lived in various cities before they moved to the Mojave Desert area. Virginia graduated from Trona High School there, but soon moved back to Oklahoma where she could enjoy grass and trees.
Upon her return, she met Elmer Earl (Bud) Sprague, and they married on December 29, 1949 at the Nazarene parsonage in Dewey, Oklahoma. They made their home there for ten years until moving to Bartlesville. Virginia was at one time employed at Saddoris Linen, but later returned to work at Phillips Petroleum, where she had worked before the birth of her three children. She later retired from Phillips after many years. She was widowed in 2005. Recently, she has lived at Brookdale Senior Living (South) due to declining health.

Mrs. Sprague is survived by two sons, Craig R. Sprague and his wife Vickie F. of Bartlesville and Dennis C. Sprague and his wife Vickie L., also of Bartlesville; one daughter, Katie L. (Sprague) Jones of Bartlesville and her husband Victor P. Jones; two brothers-in-law, Phillip (Eli) Sprague of Dewey, and Ted A. Sprague of Hollywood, California; four grandchildren: Kyle Sprague of Owasso, Dr. Nicole (Cupp) Kerbs of Bartlesville, Kaitlin (Jones) Yaws of Littleton, Colorado and Logan Jones of Lonetree, Colorado; four great-grandchildren, Tyler and Kaylee Sprague and Samuel and Violet Yaws, and two great-grand-dogs, Kosmo and Stella, and many nieces and nephews.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother; J.B. (Jimmy) Seybert, and sister Betty Birmingham.
