Mr. David A. Speer, 62, of Bartlesville, died at 9:21 A.M. on
Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center.
Friends who wish may call for visitation at the Stumpff Funeral Home on Tuesday
until 8 P.M.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the
Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Dewey Cemetery
directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
Mr. Speer was born at Fort Benning, Georgia on August 26, 1954 the son of George
C. “Cas” Speer and Arvona Lucille “Mickey” (Stookey) Speer. He grew up in
Bartlesville attending Highland Park Elementary School, Madison Junior High and
Sooner High School where he graduated in 1972. He attended Tulsa Junior College
for a short time. Mr. Speer was married to Debra Marie Hite at the Gilcrease
Museum in Tulsa on June 1, 1980. They made their home in Tulsa where Mr. Speer
was employed with Tesco Engineering in Tulsa and later in Conroe, Texas. They
returned to Bartlesville to make their home in 1983 and he joined Phillips
Petroleum Company in Bartlesville in 1984. He was a materials handler with
Phillips until his retirement in 2009. He loved to buy, fix up and sell used
cars and was a very social person. He cared about people and loved to be around
them and he loved his family.
Survivors include his wife Debbie Speer of Bartlesville, one daughter, Melissa
Moseley and husband Jeremy of Bartlesville, one son, Micheal Speer of Oklahoma
City, a sister, Sandy Adams and husband, Don of Bartlesville, a brother, Doyle
Speer of Bartlesville and one grandson, Turner Moseley.
He was preceded in death by his father, George “Cas” Speer on Feb. 12, 2012, his mother Arvona “Mickey” Speer on Aug, 13, 2014 and a son, Matthew Komac Speer on Jan. 17, 1999.
