DAVIS FAMILY
FUNERAL HOME
DEWEY, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)
Sherri Lynn Spaw, 57, of Dewey, went to her Heavenly home Sunday.
Sherri was born the daughter of Clive and Mary (Branson) Hainline on
March 10, 1960, in Bartlesville, Ok. From a young age she was raised by
her mother and stepfather Carl Chiseck in various parts of Indiana and
Oklahoma. When Sherri was in the 12th grade the family moved to Ramona
where she graduated with Caney Valley’s class of ’78. Sherri travelled
with a girlfriend down to Del Rio, Texas, to visit her friends boyfriend
stationed at Laughlin Air Force Base (AFB). His roommate was Robert
“Bob” Spaw, and Sherri and Bob feel in love quickly. Sherri stayed in
that town with her girlfriend until she was united in marriage with Bob
on May 23, 1981, in Del Rio. They made their home in Del Rio until Bob
was transferred to Nellis AFB in Las Vegas. When Bob was transferred to
Osan AFB in Korea, Sherri and the kids came back to Bartlesville for the
next year until Bob was transferred to Shaw AFB and the family rejoined
him there. They were stationed at Shaw until his retirement in 1995 and
the family moved back first to Bartlesville and then to their current
home in Dewey in 1996. Through the many years of moving Sherri worked in
various nursing capacities including home health. She retired as a
claims specialist from Jane Phillips Medical Center.
Sherri enjoyed crocheting, crafts and gardening in her free time and
shared many different creations with family and friends, one memorable
scarf measured 10 feet before she decided it was long enough. She was a
caregiver at heart and always put others’ needs above hers. She cared
for her grandchildren in her home for many years so her daughter could
pursue a career. She loved her plants both indoor and out. She loved her
church family at Dewey First Baptist Church and the many wonderful
friends they made there. She will be dearly missed by all those she
loved and cared for.
Sherri is survived by her husband Bob Spaw of the home; two children,
Robin Witt and Joseph of Ramona, and Robert Ronnie Spaw Jr. and Aranda
of Bremerton, WA; two brothers Greg Hainline of Mena, AR, Mark Allen
Hainline & wife Kelly of Bartlesville; three sisters, Cindy Bachelder of
Dewey, Mary Ann Wise and husband Randy Pinney of Bartlesville, and Anna
Marie of Dewey; seven grandchildren, Emilee Spaw, Garth Walker, Devon
Witt, Tayllore Witt, Kamdyn Witt, Jordyn Witt and Koltyn Witt; three
great grandchildren, Emilia Walker, Caleb Walker and Kenslee Witt; and
many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 10-8. Funeral services will be
held 10 a.m. Friday, July 14, at Dewey First Baptist Church, with Pastor
Mark Wright officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dewey Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family
Funeral Home.
Online condolences and remembrances may be shared with
