Reba Irene Russell was born on October 22, 1926 to Edgar C Perry
and Florence (Rumley) Perry in Blaine, Oklahoma. She had a large close family
which included 14 brothers and sisters. The Perrys moved to California where she
met and married Jake Ralston in 1943. The Ralstons eventually moved to Kansas
where Reba worked as an aide for 11 years at the Osawatomie State hospital
before moving on to work part time as the post master in Princeton, Kansas.
After several years there she became the full time post master in Lane, Kansas
for many years until retiring in 1989. Reba and Jake moved to Dewey, Oklahoma in
1992 and in total
enjoyed 51 years of marriage until his death in 1995. She married Wilford
Russell in 1996 and was blessed with 22 more years of marriage with him until
his death in March of 2018.
In her middle years years Reba greatly enjoyed camping and fishing. She sewed
for many years as well. Reba loved keeping her grandchildren and visiting with
friends and family. She loved to cook too much food when they visited, and made
the best pies. Reba was a fierce player of card games, dominoes, and marbles.
She enjoyed sports and going to her grandchildren's various types of ball games
through the years.
She was a sweet, yet sassy and spunky lady who will be greatly missed.
Reba is survived by two daughters, Earn Gregg of Paola , Kansas, and Ann Jackson
and significant other John Sumpter of Copan, Oklahoma, Two stepsons, Leon
Russell and his wife Becky of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, David Russell and his wife
Regina of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, one step daughter , Renda Sheets of
Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 20 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 5 great
great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, 14 brothers and sisters, two husbands,
Jake Ralston and Wilford Russell, two children, Albert Ralston and his wife
Karen, and Carol Colbern, a son in law, Jim Gregg, a step son in law, Leo
