Gwendolyn "Gwen" Lashon Ogans, 50, of Dewey, died Wednesday, August
28, 2019, in Tulsa.
Gwen was born July 31, 1969, to William Loyd Ogans and Cecilia Ann (Van
Dyck) Ogans in Bartlesville and she grew up in Dewey. Gwen attended
Dewey High School and she has lived in this area her entire life. Her
father has fond memories of Gwen riding the motorcycle with him and
sometimes he would take her on the road in his semi. In her younger
years, she also enjoyed fishing.
Gwen was a member of the Westside First Baptist Church of Dewey. After
her son Dede was born, they moved to Bartlesville. For the last several
years, she worked as a seamstress at Martha's Task. She was always
smiling and loved to visit. She enjoyed talking so much and her family
jokingly remembers she was able to talk on two telephones at the same
time.
Gwen is survived by her father, William Ogans of Dewey; her mother,
Cecilia Van Dyck; her son, Dede Walker of Bartlesville; her siblings,
Mario (Jamie) Grant, Carlotta (Chris) Charles, William (Holly) Johnson,
Mario (Meron) Ogans Sr., Donovan Johnson Sr., De'zsa Ogans, Damen
Dodds, Tyrone Dodds, Demarco Dodds, Davis Jr. Dodds; her aunts, Lucille
Finley and Deborah Loza; nieces and nephews, Mathew Grant, Sevan Grant,
Brandyn Newbins, Camron Charles, Casey Johnson, Mario Ogans Jr.,
Nathan Ogans, Micah Ogans, Donovan Johnson Jr., and Jadah Johnson; and
great-niece, NaZiah Newbins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday September 12, from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
at the Davis Family Funeral Home, Dewey Chapel.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Friday, September 13, at
Westside First Baptist Church, Dewey with the Rev. Micheal Diggs
officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dewey Cemetery. Services are
under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home, Dewey Chapel.
