Visente V. Maldonado, age 91 and longtime resident of Dewey, Oklahoma, passed away in The Journey Home, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, on Wednesday, October 26, 2016.

Visente Valentin Maldonado was born on February 14, 1925 in Coffeyville, Kansas. He was the son of Jose Maldonado and Sabina Ortega Maldonado. He was raised in the Dexter Kansas area where he received his formal schooling.

On January 5, 1947, Visente and Mary Vargas were united in marriage in Bartlesville. Visente was employed with Missouri Pacific Railroad, Dewey Portland Cement Company and later was employed with Chevalley Movers. He retired from Chevalley after being employed with them for approximately 22 years.
Visente and his wife, Mary, were long-time members of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Dewey. He was a lifetime member of the DAV, he was also the past Commander of the VFW in Dewey

Survivors include three sons, Manuel and his wife, Peggy Maldonado, of Dewey, Richard and his wife, Billie Jean Maldonado, of Bartlesville, Visente, Jr., and his wife, Ann Maldonado, of Skiatook, Oklahoma; two daughters, Teresa and her husband, Vincent Medina, of Collinsville, Oklahoma, and Monica Maldonado of Collinsville; two sisters, Helen Vargas and Lupe Tapia, 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Martin Maldonado; his wife, Mary on May 2, 2016; siblings, two brothers; Paul Maldonado and Daniel Sanchez, two sisters; Mary Smith and Consuelo Sanchez; and a granddaughter, Nikki Ann Maldonado.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Visente's name be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Dewey or The Journey Home in Bartlesville.

Come and go visitation will be held on Friday October 28th from 9:00 AM-8:00 PM in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home.

Family will be present to greet friends from 6-7:00 PM. A Rosary will follow the visitation at 7:00 PM in the chapel of the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home. A Mass of the Resurrection for Visente will be held on Saturday October 29th at 11:00 AM in the St. John Before The Latin Gate Catholic Church. Father Jose Thottathill will be the celebrant.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home.
