Vida Sue (Kimbrell) Spaid, 87, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023, at Brookdale Bartlesville South.

Sue, as she was known to family and friends, was born November 17, 1935 at Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Othel Blaine Kimbrell and Jewel Florence (Miller) Kimbrell. She began her elementary education at Jenks, Oklahoma, moving to Tulsa, where she completed her education at Central High School, graduating with the Senior Class of 1954.

Sue's first employment was with Kress's in downtown Tulsa. She then went to work for First National Band of Tulsa, where she was employed sixteen years. Sue married Walter Edward Spaid on September 22, 1972, at Tulsa and established a home there. She then worked for Copper Supply Wholesale Plumbing Distributors from 1978 to 1987. Sue has been a homemaker since then.

The couple moved to Tahlequah in 1993 and came to Bartlesville in 2004. From 2014 to 2018 Walt & Sue made their home in Stillwater, Oklahoma and returned to Bartlesville in 2018.

Sue was an artsy person, who loved drawing and painting. Sue enjoyed fishing and spending time at the lake.

Survivors are her husband, Walt of the home; two step-children, William Edward Spaid and his wife, LuAnna of Stillwater and Patricia Ann (Spaid) Young and her husband, David of Caney, Kansas; four step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews. Sue was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and a sister.

Private funeral services and interment will be held at Dewey City Cemetery, Dewey, Oklahoma under the direction of Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home. To send an online condolence, visit www.honoringmemories/bartlesville.com.
