Jerry Lynn Smith
December 23, 1972 - January 11, 2023

Jerry Lynn Smith, 50, of Dewey, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, in Tulsa.

Jerry was born December 23, 1972, in Bartlesville and grew up in the Dewey and Bartlesville area. His great-grandparents, Gus and Mae Underwood, helped his mother Charlote to raise him. In his early years, Jerry's great-grandmother told Charlote, "He's as much mine as he is yours." Family was important to Jerry and he loved the family get-togethers. Rebecca "Becky" looked up to Jerry who constantly served as her protector. He was dearly loved.

The tenderhearted man attended school in both Dewey and Bartlesville. He took computer classes in Tulsa and was a computer nerd and gamer. Jerry was an intelligent man and also learned everything he could about pest control. He worked in pest control for a number of years while he was attending school for IT.

Jerry liked to talk about his passions in life. He loved his tattoos and enjoyed fishing. He also worked as a cook at Murphy's Steak House for a number of years. He loved his music and was always wearing his headphones. He was a jokester. Jerry's smile and sense of humor will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

As Jerry would say ... Tech 9.

Jerry is survived by his mother, Charlote and her husband Chester; his adopted father, Bobby Smith; his aunts, Kim Catlin, Suzette Underwood; his cousin, who was more like a sister, Rebecca Robinson and her husband, Chris; his cousin, Derand Catlin and wife Ashley; his daughter, Heidi Barcus; his grandchildren, Johnny and Connor; and numerous other family members and friends.

Visitation will be from 10-8 Monday at the Davis Family Funeral Home - Dewey Chapel, 918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at the Davis Family Funeral Home - Dewey Chapel, with Philip Norris officiating. Interment will follow in the Dewey Cemetery. Services and interment are under the direction of Davis Family Funeral Home - Dewey Chapel. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
