Thelma Ellen Scholl
April 15, 1934 - October 16, 2023

Thelma Ellen (Truitt) Scholl, 89, of Wann, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023, at The Journey Home in Bartlesville.

Thelma was born April 15, 1934, east of Dewey to Viola (Sprague) Truitt and Lawrence Truitt. In Thelma's younger years they lived in the Copan and Dewey areas but later moved to Bartlesville area, where Thelma attended Bartlesville Public Schools.

Thelma married Robert Scholl in 1952. Besides being a wife and a mother of two, Thelma also worked side by side with Robert in the oilfield, driving the tractor during hay season and helping with the cattle. She loved being in the country with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Thelma worked at Ray's Thrifty-Wise Grocery Store in the 1960s. In the late 1980s Thelma and Robert operated the Dewey Dari & Burgers Restaurant in Dewey and owned it about 10 years. Thelma was the main cook, making sure the food was as good as it could be and keeping the customers happy.

She is survived by her daughter Karen Scholl Marshall and husband Jim of Wann; son, Ron Scholl and wife Sheryl of Wann; two grandchildren, Randy Scholl of Wann and Melissa Payne of Tulsa; and two great-grandchildren, Vivi and Spencer Payne of Tulsa.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Scholl; granddaughter, Lauren Scholl; five brothers, Ray, Howard, Jim, Melvin, And Leroy Truitt; and one sister, Lena Truitt; and her parents, Viola (Sprague) Truitt and Lawrence Truitt.

Thelma's family will receive friends on Thursday, October 19, from 6-8 p.m., at Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel, 113 S. Osage Ave. (Hwy 75), Dewey, OK 74029. Visitation will be also held from 10-8 Thursday.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2023, at Dewey Cemetery with Reverend Chris Cooper officiating. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
