Dewey Cash Johnson, age 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 27, 2018.
Dewey was born February 28, 1938 in Dewey, Oklahoma. He was the third son of Guy
Johnson and Bertha (Goodwin) Johnson. He grew up around Dewey and worked at
numerous jobs in which he was noted as always being a hard worker. Some of his
work career was with Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas, McDonnell-Douglas in
Tulsa, City of Bartlesville and he had his own trash route for his local
community until the week before he passed away.
Dewey was an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially enjoyed hunting for deer
and elk. He loaded his own shells. Dewey loved gardening and is known for
growing some very large tomatoes.
Dewey was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Kay Johnson whose mother was his first wife, Jean; brother, John Jay Johnson; and his parents, Guy and Bertha Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Genevieve Johnson of the family home; grandson, Devon Gray of the U.S. Navy, San Diego, California; brother, Francis Johnson and his wife, Roberta, of Dewey; sister, Betty Lehr of Bartlesville; sister, Georgia Hamblin and her husband, Paul, of Dewey; six nieces and five nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Dewey's memory be given to the Cancer Society 4110 S. 100th E. Ave., Tulsa, OK 74146.
Come and go visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM; Saturday from 9:00 AM Noon; and Monday from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey Ave.
Services for Dewey will be held on Tuesday, June 5, at 2:00 PM in the Calvary Community Church, Bowring, Oklahoma. Rev. Bill Long will be the officiant.
Burial will follow the service in the Dewey City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home.
