Kenneth Charles Hunter
Apr 16, 1949 - Nov 19, 2018

Kenneth Charles Hunter, 69, of Wann, joined his beloved wife Rayma in heaven, Monday in Bartlesville.

Kenneth, or "Kenny' as he was known, was born the son of J.C. and Margaret Mary (Mitchell) Hunter on April 16, 1949, in Philadelphia. At a young age the family moved to Oklahoma City (OKC), where he was educated, graduating from Capitol Hill High School in 1965. Kenny loved to dance and was part of the dancers featured on the local dance show called The Scene hosted by Ronnie Kay in OKC. He went on to serve in the U.S. Army in Vietnam where he received several decorations for combat service. Once honorably discharged Kenny followed his family into heavy construction and joined the International Union of Operating Engineers as a heavy equipment and crane operator. While on assignment in Bartlesville working on the Phillips Building he met the love of his life Rayma Lynn. They married on Nov. 3, 1977, and settled in Wann to raise their family and enjoy taking their horses on trail rides together. After 34 years of loving marriage Rayma preceded him in death in 2011. Kenny loved the outdoors, his passions including hunting, fishing, riding his cutting horses, and putting out his garden every year, as well as reading and watching westerns. He loved his family and spending as much time with them as possible. Many years ago he realized a need for sobriety and for his family's sake he committed to living without alcohol. He was a founding member of his AA support group and served in many leadership roles over the years. Kenny loved the Lord and was a member of Humble Road Biker Church.

Kenny is survived by his children, James Beisley of Bartlesville, Shane Ray Hunter and Joeleen of Dewey, Travis Cecil Hunter and Mika of Wann, and Mark Ennis and Patty of New Castle, OK; one brother Michael Hunter and Jennifer of OKC; seven grandchildren, Felecia, Jarrett, Joshua, Raylee, Morgan, Kate and Aubrey; four great grandchildren, Kasen, Kamryn, Brynlee and Ayana; and his little girlfriend four year old Thyri Grace Martin.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and three brothers, Richard Cecil Hunter, Christopher James Hunter and Edward Joseph Hunter.

Visitation will be held Sat. and Sun. 12-5 at the Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alano Club, PO Box 12, Bartlesville, OK 74005.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Mon., Nov. 26, at Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church, with Pastor Jeff Wickham officiating.

Interment will follow at the Dewey Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel.
