Mr. Floyd Earl Hays, 84, of Bartlesville, went to be with his Savior
Jesus Christ at 12:30 P.M. on Monday, March 13, 2017 at his home in
Bartlesville.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Hays will be held at 2 P.M. on
Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Dewey Cemetery with Pastor Sherman
Jaquess of the Matoaka Baptist Church officiating. Full military rites
will be accorded by the James H. Teel American Legion Post # 105.
Services are under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home &
Crematory.
Friends who wish may call for visitation at the Stumpff Funeral Home
until 12 noon on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established and those who
wish may send their contributions to the St . Jude Children’s Research
Hospital at
www.stjude.org.
Mr. Hays was born in El Dorado, Kansas on December 15, 1932, the son on
Verna Rowena (Snell) and Claud Hays. He grew up and received his
education in the Bartlesville area where he came with his family as a
child. He entered the U.S. Air Force on April 12, 1950 and served during
the Korean Conflict in Georgia and Japan. Following his Honorable
Discharge on June 15, 1954, he returned to Bartlesville where he was
employed as a dispatch supervisor with Reda Pump until 1986. He was then
employed with WestStar Bank at the downtown and eastside locations until
his retirement in 1989. He was married to Bonnie Katrina Pugh of Oglesby
on May 13, 1955. They made their home in Bartlesville all of their
married life and she preceded him in death on February 5, 1993. Mr. Hays
liked to play cards and spend time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Hays is survived by one daughter, Anita La Rue and husband Charles
of Bartlesville; one son, Raymond Hays and wife Linda of Collinsville;
three sisters, Peggy Wisinger and Ruby Trammel, both of Bartlesville,
and Mary Hardin of Palestine, Texas; grandchildren Renata and Tory,
Katherine and Gerald, and Shauna; and great grandchildren, Karah,
Felicity, Ellery and Peter.
He was preceded in death by his parents;
brothers, Lewis, William, Forrest, Merle and Herbert; sisters, Eilene,
Melba and Lorraine; and two grandchildren, Scott and Amber Hays.
