DAVIS FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
DEWEY, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)

Everett Lee Graves, 65, of Dewey, died Sunday in Dewey.

Everett also known as “Pee Wee” was born the son of Lewis Vern and Patsy Jean (Loe) Graves on August 3, 1952, in Guymon, OK. He was raised in Amarillo, TX, graduating from Palo Duro High School in 1970. From a young age, Everett’s talent was drawing and he especially liked to draw pictures of racecars. NASCAR was his favorite sport and he knew everything about stock car racing inside and out. His favorite driver was #3 Dale Earnhardt. His dream was to be a driver and on one memorable occasion he was able to drive a racecar around the track. Everett collected everything NASCAR and most of all enjoyed his model car collection.

Everett loved to work. His first job was with Goodwill Industries and they soon realized his work ethic and helped him obtain employment with Levi Straus factory in Amarillo. Unfortunately, just three years later the factory closed down and Everett started working in lawn care. In 2003 he moved to Dewey with his mother and two sisters to be nearer to his grandfather Earl. He joined Earl in his business of chopping wood used for smoking. He also helped in the large garden they planted every year specializing in tomatoes which they sold from their house on Highway 75.

Everett’s passions in life centered on racing, working and playing video games. He loved to walk to the nearby service station where he would visit with the local patrons and the police and city workers who would often stop by for refreshments. He was generous with others and was always happy. He will be dearly missed.

Everett is survived by his mother Patsy Graves; sisters Patricia Graves, Christi Mitchell and Kevin of Amarillo, and Christial Earlene Graves; niece Wendy Salas and Daniel of Amarillo; three great nieces Raven, Shelby and Lilliana; and a host of other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, grandmothers Audrey and Mary, aunt Judy and his beloved grandfather Earl Loe.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9-8 and Friday 9-12 at the Davis Family Funeral Home, 918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey, OK.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, March 30, at the Davis Family Funeral Home, with Steven Birmingham officiating.

Interment will be in the Dewey Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home.

Online condolences and remembrances may be shared with Everett’s family at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
