Joe
Leon Glenn was born on October 20, 1925 in Hulah,
Oklahoma. He passed away peacefully at the age of 90
with his loving family present on Saturday, April
2nd, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his mother Nellie Jones
Glenn, his father John C. Glenn and sisters Ionion
Glenn Hollingsworth, Thelma Mae Glenn Frenchman and
brother J. B. Glenn.
Upon graduation from the Bowering High School in
1943, Joe entered the
United States Navy serving from 1943 to 1945.
During this time he was stationed at Pearl Harbor
with the Fleet Submarine Command. He entered the
United States
Army serving his country during the
Korean Conflict stationed in Stuttgart, Germany
with the Counter Intelligence Corps from 1948 to
1952. During this time he met and married Lieselotte
"Lottie" Pfaffenzeller. They were married for 61
years until her death on November 2014.
Following his career in the armed services Mr. Glenn
was employed by the Bartlesville Police Department
from 1953 retiring as Captain of Detectives in 1973.
During the same period he was head of security for
Reda Pump in Bartlesville, retiring from Reda Pump
1976. He then joined Phillips Petroleum as
Supervisor of Security Personnel and Executive
Security in 1976, retiring from Phillips in 1986. In
1987 he was hired by the District Attorney of
Washington County as a special investigator and
served two different D.A's before retiring for the
last time. In retirement he wrote 3 history books
about life and times in the Hulah, OK area and his
life in Law Enforcement.
During his life Joe worked very hard, often with two
jobs, to support his family. Joe was an avid reader
and had an extensive library that he donated to
several area libraries before his death.
Mr. Glenn is survived by his sister Betty J. Newell,
his son Ron Glenn and wife Jani Glenn of
Bartlesville, his daughter Judy Glenn Kennell of
Boerne, Texas and grandchildren Joey Glenn of
Bartlesville, Mikey Glenn of Stillwater, Allison,
Elizabeth and Stephen Kennell of Austin, Texas,
Kenny Kennell of Houston, Texas and Hunter Kennell
of Boerne, Texas, and nine great grandchildren. He
is also survived by two special friends, Charles
Spencer and Norma Sas.
Joe never met a stranger. He had many friends and
acquaintances during his storied life.
Memorial donations may be made to the Joe L. Glenn
Memorial Fund at the Bartlesville Police Department.

Funeral services for Mr. Glenn will be held at 11
A.M. on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at the Good
Shepherd Presbyterian Church with Dr. Dale Scott
officiating.
Interment will be in the Dewey Cemetery
where full honors will be accorded by the Ceremonial
Detail of the James H. Teel American Legion Post #
105 and the Bartlesville Police Department Honor
Guard. Funeral services and interment are under the
direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
Visitation will be held at the Stumpff Funeral Home
on Tuesday from 9 A.M. until 8 P.M. and the Glenn
family will receive guests at the funeral home on
Tuesday evening from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M.
