DAVIS FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
DEWEY, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)

Robin A. Davies, 71, an Englishman who visited Bartlesville, fell in love, and made Dewey his family home, died Monday in Bartlesville. He will be dearly missed on both sides of the Atlantic.

Robin was born the son of Alfred George and Elizabeth Rose (Furlong) Davies in his native country of England in London on January 4, 1946. He was raised and educated in London. During his studies Robin completed several job study programs which prepared him for his IT computing career with Phillips Petroleum Company. He started with Phillips in London in 1972, and a few years later in February 1978 made a business trip to Bartlesville where he quickly fell in love with Ms. Debbie Matthews. With just a few short visits in between, they were married in Dewey on August 5, 1978. They made their home in London until Robin was transferred to Bartlesville in 1980. Robin retired in 2007 after 35 years with the company.

In Robin’s younger days he loved to sail on his sailboat in England. Traveling was his passion and the family made many memorable yearly trips to locations near and far, sightseeing throughout America. He was handy as a man should be and tackled many home and car repairs himself. Robin was an avid reader, amateur photographer, loved everything about computers, and was curious about the world around him. But most of all Robin loved his family and was proud of his children and their accomplishments.

Robin is survived by Debbie of the home; two children Matthew Robin Davies and Marie of Broken Arrow, and Kari LaLonde Stapleton and Michael of Edmond; one brother Geoff Davies and Anne of London; one sister Barbara Oldham and James of London; and one granddaughter Alice Majel Davies of Broken Arrow.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, at the Dewey cemetery with Mr. Brent Logsdon officiating. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home.

Online condolences and remembrances may be shared with Robin’s family at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
