Patrick Robert Clingen, 39, formerly of Bartlesville, died Tuesday in
Burkburnett, TX.
Patrick was born the son of Robert James Clingen and Debra Jean
(Ketchum) Minter on April 18, 1978, in Claremore, OK. He was raised in
Bartlesville, attending Wesleyan Christian School through 8th grade then
transferring to Dewey High School where he graduated with the Class of
1997. While in school Patrick was on the basketball and track teams. He
furthered his education at Oklahoma Baptist University where he was a
walk-on player for their basketball team. Patrick decided to pursue a
career as a first responder and transferred to Missouri Southern
University in Joplin where he earned his paramedic certification. His
first job out of school was with the Independence, KS, EMS. Shortly
after, he completed his training at the Fire Academy in Kansas City and
went to work for the Kansas City, Kansas Fire Department as a
firefighter and paramedic. He loved his work and helping those in need.
Patrick enjoyed fishing, hunting and OU football. He cherished special
times spent with his kids at the lake and the river.
Patrick is survived by his mother Debra Minter and George of Grove;
girlfriend Andrea Wilson of Burkburnett, TX; two children Mackenzie
Nicole Clingen and Broden Patrick Clingen, both of Olathe, KS; brother
Christopher Minter of Denver; maternal grandfather Charles Ketchum of
Dewey; two uncles, Steve Ketchum of Ramona and Mark Ketchum of Las
Vegas; aunt Cathy Etheridge and Jimmie of Bartlesville; best friend and
cousin Jeremy Batchelder; and a host of other cousins and friends.
He is
preceded in death by his father, paternal grandparents and maternal
grandmother.
Patrick’s family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home,
918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey, on Sunday, January 7, from
2-4 p.m.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, January 8, at the Davis
Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Rod Macllvane officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dewey Cemetery. Services are under the
direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home.
