Mr. Sherman LeRoy Buechler, 83, of Bartlesville, died at 8:05 A.M. on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Journey Home in Bartlesville.

Funeral services for Mr. Buechler will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, August 11, 2017 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Sheppard officiating. Military rites will be accorded and interment will be in the Dewey Cemetery directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

Mr. Buechler was born at Highmore, South Dakota on April 16, 1934 the son of Emmanuel and Bertha (Gramm) Buechler. He grew up and received his education in Highmore, South Dakota and served with the U.S. Army from July 12, 1956 until July 11, 1958. He was married to Dorothy Boulanger on December 26, 1959 and they made their home in Bartlesville where Mr. Buechler was employed with Reda Pump until his retirement in 1985. Dorothy preceded him in death on June 1, 1985. Mr. Buechler has continued his primary home in Bartlesville and he has spent his winters in Florida for the past 30 years. He loved to fish and in Florida loved to play shuffleboard.

Survivors include two nieces, Carol and husband Lawrence Olson of Ft. Pierre, South Dakota, Pam Olson and husband Terry of Highmore, South Dakota nephew, David Buechler and wife Jodi of Sherman, Texas, sister-in-law, Gladys Buechler of Fairfax, Okla., brother-in-law, Eugene Boulanger of Pawhuska, nieces and nephews by marriage, Jodie Shorter and husband Wayne of Dewey, Sheryl Bonney of Wann, Janet Batdorf and husband Tyler (Tag) of Pawhuska, Brian Tisdale of Wann and Stephen Tisdale of Hominy as well as numerous other nieces and nephews by marriage.

In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Delmar Buechler of Fairfax, Okla.

Memorial donations may be made to the Journey Home, 3406 S.E. Kentucky, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 74006.
