Gene was born March 31, 1939, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to parents Raymond Henry and Mary Helen (Farney) Brashears. The family then moved to California before moving back to Tulsa when he was a sophomore in high School. He graduated from Central High School, in Tulsa, in 1957. He worked for Glencliff Dairy for seven years then for Meadow Gold Dairy for thirty-six years. He retired in 1998 doing route sales. He married Carolyn Marie Niccum on June 10, 1958. The couple attended Bluestem Baptist Church and have been members since 1970. Gene loved going camping, fishing, hunting and boating, basically anything outdoors, he enjoyed. He also loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother Bill Brashears, sister Helen Brashears, nephew Aaron Brashears and son in law Frank Tucker.
Gene is survived by his wife, Carolyn, of the home; children Carol Davis, of Dewey, James Brashears, of Bartlesville, John Brashears and wife Kelly, of Dewey and Treva Roux and husband John, of Oklahoma City; brother Leroy Brashears, of Broken Arrow; sister Connie Richardson, of Tulsa; grandchildren Gene Tucker and wife Theresa, Jaime Morrison and husband Justin, Jennifer Tayrien, Amy Soto and husband Will, Tyler Brashears and wife Jamie, Ashley Hodges and husband Clint, Brittany Holt and husband Jacoty and Dustin Brashears; step granddaughter Amanda Tucker; 14 great grandchildren and one on the way; 4 step great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 9am to 8pm at Stumpff Funeral Home on Tuesday,
March 2, 2021.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2021
at 10am at Bluestem Baptist Church in Dewey, Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making donations to Bluestem
Baptist Church in Dewey.
