Dwayne Shaw Chancellor, age 91, of Claremore, Oklahoma, passed away on May 2, 2025. He was born on July 20, 1933, in the Tate Community near Booneville, Arkansas, to Joshua Henery Chancellor and Ida Brigance.

Dwayne graduated from high school and went on to marry Loretta Sue (Vaughn) Chancellor on December 18, 1953. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, family, and a love for the outdoors.

He was a lifelong member of New Harmony Baptist Church, where his faith was an important part of his life. Dwayne was also a life member of the National Rifle Association, a longtime member of the Bartlesville Sportsman Club, and actively involved in Ducks Unlimited. A passionate outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid coon hunter for over 40 years.

Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents, his son Timothy Chancellor, and his daughter Susan Chancellor.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Chancellor of Dewey; daughter Tina Durst of Dewey; son David Chancellor of Dewey; eight grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. His legacy of love, strength, and devotion to family and community lives on through them.

A funeral service will be held on May 8, 2025, at 2:00 PM at New Harmony Baptist Church, with interment to follow at Dewey City Cemetery.
