Barnett Lloyd Gilbert was born in Porter, Oklahoma on April 28, 1930 and departed this life in Stroud, Oklahoma on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the age of 84 years.

Barnett was the son of Ovie Otis and Edith Conley Gilbert.

He was a resident of Stroud, Oklahoma.

He was in the United States Army where he served in the World War II.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Davenport, Oklahoma and owned and operated Gilbert Trucking Company.

Barnett married to Myrtle Emmons in April of 1980.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Barney Jr., two daughters, Kathy and Sherri, three brothers and one grandchild.

Survivors include one son, Daniel Otis Gilbert of Tulsa, three daughters, Barnetta Pofahl of Wagoner, Edith Louise Gilbert of Tulsa and Summer Ulena Gilbert of Stroud, one brother, Johnnie Gilbert of Kendrick, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at the Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2014 with Rev. Joe Molencupp officiating.

Service are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, Oklahoma.
