Margaret "Sue" James, 74, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, August
6, 2017.
She was born October 27, 1942 in Porter, Oklahoma to Jim and Marie
(Kaiser) Brandon. She attended Vans Lake School, Helmer School, West Junior
High School and graduated from Muskogee Central High School with the class
of 1960.
Sue married the love of her life, Carl Lee James, on June 17, 1960 at
Trinity Free Will Baptist Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Carl and Sue
shared 57 years of a happy life and marriage together.
Sue will always be remembered as an entrepreneur owning several
businesses including Suzi's Shoes at Honor Heights Plaza and Curt's
Mall, Gene's Shoes in downtown Muskogee, Hamlin's El Toro West, and J&W
Construction. She enjoyed traveling and traveled extensively outside of
the U.S. including Nova Scotia, Canada and Mexico. Sue also enjoyed
going crappie fishing and bowling whenever she had the chance. She loved
her friends and family very much and enjoyed spending as much time as
possible with them. Sue will be missed by everyone who knew and loved
her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Marie (Kaiser)
Brandon; and brother, Darrell Ray Brandon.
Sue is survived by her husband, Carl James of the home; daughter, Carla
Sue O'Dell and husband Micah of Plano, TX; son, Mike James of Muskogee,
OK; sisters, Juanita Brandon of Muskogee, OK, and Carolyn Jones and
husband Darrell of Porter, OK; brother, Don Brandon and wife Annette of
Porter, OK; grandchildren, Joseph Sanderson III and wife Lauren of
Muskogee, OK, Scott Sanderson of Muskogee, OK, Kayla O'Dell, Brandon
O'Dell both of Plano, TX, Codelynn James of Shawnee, OK, Levi James of
Wainwright, OK, Bella James of Muskogee, OK, and Kye James of Muskogee,
OK; great-grandchildren, Joseph Sanderson IV and John Sanderson both of
Muskogee, OK; and many other family members and friends.
Sue's family will receive friends 5:30 P.M. - 7:30 P.M., Wednesday,
August 9, 2017 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel.
A celebration of Sue's life will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, August 10,
2017 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rusty Harrison and
Rev. Don Burns officiating.
Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery
in Porter, Oklahoma.
Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and
Crematory; 1830 N. York St., Muskogee, OK.
