John Rabbit, born on June 7, 1991, in Claremore, Oklahoma, left this world far too soon, on August 14, 2025, at the age of 34, in Pryor, Oklahoma.

He was a gentle giant, beloved for his sweet and kind nature. John’s heart was as big as his stature, making him a cherished presence among family and friends. John graduated from Pryor High School in 2009, a milestone that set the stage for the life he would lead. For many years, he dedicated himself to working at the Pryor lumber yard, where his commitment and hard work spoke to his character. His colleagues remember him not just for his reliability but also for the warmth he brought into the workplace. Outside of work, John enjoyed watching sports his favorite being the Seattle Seahawks and had a passion for wrestling as he always attended “support wrestling for a cause”, always cheering enthusiastically for his teams. He found great joy in watching as well as playing baseball. John was an avid collector of Funko POP’s and enjoyed collecting all different kinds of Zippos. Above all, John loved his family fiercely.

John is survived by his loving family, who will remember him fondly. His mother, Evelyn Rabbit, of the home located in Chouteau, Oklahoma, alongside his grandmother Juanita Rabbit, who also lives in Chouteau. John leaves behind an aunt, Anita "Bunnie" McLain, and her husband Russell, who are also of Chouteau, Oklahoma. John also will be remembered by a host of extended family and friends that will miss him immensely. Their lives will be forever touched by the love and kindness John shared with them.

John is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Rabbit, whose memories will remain a guiding light for all who are mourning. He also is proceeded in death by his beloved dog, Bane, who passed away in January. As we remember John Rabbit, let us celebrate his spirit: the sweet laughter, the gentle heart, and the kindness that defined his life. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation for John will be held Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shipman’s Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 22, 2025, at Your Place Church in Pryor.

Interment will follow in the Fisher Cemetery in Mazie with Traci Rabbit, Candice Pruitt, Zac Williams, Matt Wimberly, Jeremy Pruitt, and Stephen Proctor serving as casket bearers.

Honorary casket bearers include Billy Rabbit, Jacob Enyart, and Johnny Sly.
