Guy Hawk, the son of Jess and Lillie (Seabolt) Hawk, was born April 6, 1945 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and went home to be with the Lord on April 17, 2018 at his home in Stilwell surrounded by a loving family at the age of 73 years and 11 days.

Guy loved sports and was a diehard OU fan but also enjoyed watching the Denver Broncos, Redskins and the Dodgers. Next to the Sooners he loved watching WWE. Guy loved playing baseball and as a shortstop he had a natural curve ball that landed him an offer from the Phillies. Although drafted, he chose to remain in his hometown. Fishing and restoring cars were also favorite hobbies he enjoyed. His children remember him saying “Put your elbow into it” while helping him sand his cars.

Guy was known to be a clown and loved to laugh and be ornery. He took much pleasure in cutting the whiskers of the family cat. When he became sick he told his nurse that he was in the Civil War. He was very competitive and wanted his kids to be the very best. It was important to all his kids to make Dad  proud.  Guy was always ready to help someone calm down by lending a listening ear.

He was a member of Salem Baptist Church. He answered the call to preach the gospel and served God faithfully long as his health permitted.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Lillie Hawk and his brother Duggie Chuculate.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 39 years, Shirley Hawk of the home; his children, Oleta St. Pierre and husband Robert of Stilwell, Cynthia Pack and husband Larry of Stilwell, Keisha Johnson and husband Earl of Stilwell, Guy Hawk and wife Jennifer of Stilwell, Michael Hawk and wife Tabitha of Jay; 19 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Guy is also survived by many other friends and loved ones.

Funeral services were held 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2018 at Salem Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Pritchett and Bro. Gary Flynn officiating.

Interment followed at Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner under the care and direction of Hart Funeral Home.
