Ann Esme (Lewis) Pearson

Ann Esme Pearson was born in Manchester, England , Dec 1925, to Mr &
Mrs Roland Wedlake Lewis. She served in the Women's Auxiliary Air
Force ( WAAF ) from 1946-1948 and met and married Charles David
Pearson.
The Pearson family emigrated to the USA in November 1959 and arrived
in Bartlesville Okla. in Jan 1960. Ann found employment in 1969 with
Spears World Travel and subsequently managed a new branch of Spears
on the East side of Bartlesville. She became a world traveler
visiting China, Russia, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand, and
many parts of Europe.
A lover of dance, Ann enjoyed ballet and theatre. She taught
Scottish Country dancing to a group of Girl Scouts in Bartlesville
and acted in many plays, sometimes with husband David. She was an
active member of St Luke's Episcopal Church, cooking meals in the
program to provide free lunches. In later years she learned to play
tennis and was very active on the local tennis courts, and in
tournaments, playing for a number of years in the Oklahoma Senior
Olympics in Tulsa and winning gold with husband David.
Ann and her husband moved to Louisville, Kentucky and St. Louis, MO
before returning to this area in 2010 living in Tulsa, OK.
Ann is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years Charles David
Pearson, two children Vickie Shockley and husband Bill Shockley of
Tulsa and Dr. Anthony Pearson of St. Louis. In addition, eight
grandchildren: Stephen Shockley and wife Mary, Abby Flood and
husband Travis, Adam Shockley and wife Kelly and Jessica Kincannon
and husband Blake, Chelsea Pearson, Brianna Pearson, Dylan Pearson
and Gwyneth Pearson and finally Ann has five precious great
grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Audrey Flood, Jake Flood,
Gianna Shockley, Nicholas Shockley and Evelyn Shockley.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, April 19th at
Saint Patrick's Episcopal Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Patrick's
