Wanda Fern Young was born November 8th, 1939 to Claude Ray Tackett and Erma Jean Lynch on a small dairy farm on the south side of Owasso. They lived in Gateway, Oklahoma before it was blown away. Then they lived on a dairy farm in Skiatook, before coming to Collinsville, where she received her education. Fern was Valedictorian of her 1958 class. She worked in a drugstore, where Fern met Jack Young, and as a telephone operator in town. Fern also worked at Burnside and Heinrichs and served as the city clerk in Collinsville.

Fern and Jack were married October 3rd, 1958. They had three children Russell, Donna, and Bryan. Jack was in the service so the family lived in many different states the last being Midwest City before finally settling in Collinsville.

Fern is survived by her husband Jack, her son Russell, his wife Mary, their children Corey and Carly Graham and their daughters Landree and Henlee of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Ryan, Matt, and Rachel and Stephen Edwards and their son Luke, Donna and John Coen of Owasso, Oklahoma and Bryan and Ramona Young of Collinsville and their 3 daughters Katy, Gail and Remington, Fern’s sister Eva Fisher of Collinsville and her 2 sons Mike Fisher and Vince Fisher and Kristy Makinson of Calumet, Oklahoma. Fern has many cousins and their family’s living around the country.

She was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Erma Tackett, her Father and Mother-in-law Marvin and Mae Timbrook. Her two brothers Wayne and Marvin. Brother-in-law Ben Fisher and nephews Johnny and Ronnie Fisher.

In lieu of flowers, Fern requested to donate to the First Baptist Church of Collinsville Library.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 16, 2018 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home. The family will be present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Collinsville with Dr. Tim Prock officiating.

Interment will follow at the Ridgelawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
