J.B. Walters of Collinsville, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his loved ones. J.B. was born on April 7, 1931 in Inola, OK to Alexander Walters and Myrtle Mears Walters.
J.B. retired from CE Natco in May of 1986 after 31 years. He then went into work for Collinsville schools and retired from their after 10 years.
He was a member of the Masons for 50 years and belonged to the Red Fork-Brookside Masonic Lodge #55.
He was a Korean War Veteran in which he received the Purple Heart, 3 Korean Service Medals, and 1 Presidential Unit Citation, United Nations Ribbon and a Good Conduct Medal. He served in the Marine Corps and finished serving as a Drill Sergeant. He also served the community as a Little League Baseball Coach for many years.
He enjoyed family, golfing, going on vacations and Oklahoma Sooners.
J.B. was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years Mary F Walters; parents Alexander Walters and Myrtle Mears Walters; 3 brothers, Sam Walters, Lester Walters, and Bernard Walters; and 3 Sisters, Vivian Hogue, Helen Carpenter, and Hilda Dunn.
He is survived by his children, Son Blane Walters of Collinsville, OK, Son and Daughter-in- law Roger and Lynne Walters of Collinsville, OK, Daughter and son-in-law Gail and Ronnie Johnston of Chelsea, OK, Son and Daughter-in-law Rodney and Pamela Lowe of Bixby, OK; 2 grandsons, Matthew Johnston of Chelsea, OK and Heath Lowe of Lubbock, TX; 2 granddaughters, Amber and Joe Husband of Collinsville, OK, Heather and Darrell Withem of Bixby, OK; 2 great-grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter; 2 brothers, Clarence Walters of Norman, OK, Robert and Dorothy Walters of Oklahoma City, OK; and Sister Dorothy Lewis of Asotin, Washington. Lots of nieces and nephews.
Visitation for J.B. will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kelvin Limbocker officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville. Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
