Howard Wayne Thornton
January 3, 1941 - January 5, 2025

Howard Wayne Thornton was born January 3, 1941 in Turley, Oklahoma the son of Floyd and Merle (Walker) Thornton. He passed from this life on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at his home in Collinsville at the age of 84 years and 2 days.

Howard graduated from Central High School in Tulsa and was a retired printer pressman. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening and fishing.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents; brothers, Billy and Robert Thornton and sister Glenda Terrill.

His survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mary Thornton of Collinsville; daughter, Tonya Buster and husband, Brownie of Nowata; grandson, Baron Buster of Nowata; sisters, Norma Crockett of Inola and Diane Hixon and husband, Eddy of Tulsa; and brothers, Johnny Thornton of Tulsa and Jimmy Thornton and wife, Karen of Sand Springs.

Visitation for Howard will be Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 5pm to 7pm and a funeral service is scheduled for 10 am, Thursday, January 9, 2025 both to be held at the Dighton-Moore Funeral Service Chapel, 116 N. Main St., Owasso, Oklahoma 74055.
