Barbara Jane Sanders
August 1, 1931 - October 16, 2025
Barbara Jane Sanders, 94, of Sand Springs, died in Tulsa, Ok on October 16, 2025.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 23, 2025 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville.
She was born, Barbara Hawkins, in Collinsville on August 1, 1931 to Walter and Sue Hawkins. Barbara attended Collinsville schools and went on to study cost accounting in business school. She met Earl Sanders of Collinsville in 1955 and married on March, 26, 1957 in a double wedding with her sister Nathalia. Earl and Barbara moved to El Paso, Texas not long after marriage for Earl's Army service and soon after they welcomed their daughter Cathy. Barbara and Earl moved back to Collinsville in 1958 and welcomed their daughter Connie in 1960. In 1987, Earl and Barbara took on a new adventure moving to Hattisburg, Mississippi. For many year Barbara was the Treasure of the Salvation Army in Hattisburg and an active volunteer for the Rotary Club and several charities.
In 2003 Barbara and Earl returned to Oklahoma after Earl's retirement. They settled in Sand Springs where they lived until Barbara's death.
Barbara is proceeded in death by her mother, father and sisters, Nathalia and Genevia. She is survived by her loving husband Earl Sanders and daughters Cathy and Connie, grandchildren Brittany and Samantha, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
