Mary Ellen Hamilton passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in Collinsville.  She was 79.


Visitation for Mary will be Sunday, January 3, 2021 from 1:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
 

Graveside Services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 4, 2020 at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville.
 

Mary was born on March 5, 1941 in Okmulgee, OK to Carl Cypert and the former Florence Morgan.  Mary moved to Collinsville in 1971 where she raised her family and began her career.  Mary began working as the office manager for what is now the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home. She enjoyed working with and comforting families and friends.  Mary worked there for nearly 25 years before retiring.  While working at the funeral home, she served on several committees through the Collinsville Chamber of Commerce.  Some of the events she was involved in include “Founders Day,” the “Christmas Giveaway,” “Teachers’ Appreciation Breakfast,” the “City Employees’ Luncheon,” “Pride in Collinsville,” and the “Cleaning of Highway 169.”  Mary also belonged to TOPS and The Red Hat Society.  In Mary’s down time, she could often be found gardening or reading. 
 

Mary is survived by her children, Lisa Giles, Scott Hamilton and wife Diane, and Kelli Harker and husband Butch; 3 sisters, Carol Epps and husband Dewey, Charlotte Huck, and Janet Stark and husband Gale; 8 grandchildren, Lauren, Whitney, Jerry, Chance, Emily, Kris, Mallory, and Garrett; 4 great grandchildren, Holly, Mason, Matthew, and Laney; several nieces and nephews, family and friends. 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Pam Haskell.
