She was born on July 5, 1941 to Cecil and Eva (Helton) Evans in Tulsa, OK. Clara had lived in the Collinsville area since 1983, where she worked as a music and early childhood teacher until her retirement. She was a pianist for many of the local churches, including Collinsville Community Church, Eastside Baptist, and Tri-County Baptist Church. Clara was a proud member of the Kappa Kappa Iota (KKI) teacher’s sorority. Her hobbies included playing the piano and organ, cooking, and sewing, but she especially loved reading. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Clara is survived by her two children, John Cook of Vinita and Clarissa Brandwine of Haymarket, VA; her grandchildren, Marshall Cook, Corey Cook, and Nathan Brandwine; her sister, Eunice DeLozier; and extended family members and friends.
Clara was preceded in
death by her parents and two siblings, Walter Evans and Lois
Evans.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in
Clara's honor to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (AFA),

Visitation for Clara will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Nick Berens officiating.
Interment will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville. Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home, (918) 371-2111.
