The memorial service celebrating and honoring the life of Patricia Sue (Mercer) Reber will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 11, 2023, in the St Paul's Lutheran Church of Enid with The Rev. Timothy Dorsch officiating.

Burial will follow in the Grace Union Cemetery in Tulsa on Monday with The Rev. Chris Hall Officiating.

She was born September 16, 1947, at St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa, OK to Roy Virgil Mercer and Yvonne (Bloom) Mercer and was called home by her Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 7, 2023, at her home with her family by her side. Patty graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, OK in 1965. She later studied Accounting at Rogers State University in Claremore, OK. Following her marriage to David H. Reber Jr. on March 26, 1980, in Pottsville, AR, and walking with him, Patty, after forty years of working in accounting, assumed the role of Food Bank Manager at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis from 2009 to 2011, while her husband studied for the ministry and was later ordained as a pastor in the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. From St. Louis, Patty traveled with her husband to Hobbs, NM where he was installed as pastor in a dual parish. In 2018, Patty returned to Oklahoma when David was called as pastor at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School in Enid. Patty loved quilting. She loved her family; three daughters, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Her chihuahuas were always a joy for her, especially Pablo.

Patty is predeceased by her parents, Roy and Yvonne Mercer, and one brother, Donald LeRoy.

She is survived by and is the proud mother of three daughters from a previous marriage – Angela Christine Elkins and husband Jim, Laura Lynn Reynolds, and husband Mike, and Cynthia Sue Hagans and husband Matthew. Patty is the proud grandmother, and has a multitude of photographs, of her five grandchildren Michelle, Taylor, Kyle, Zachary, and Gabriella - and three great-grandchildren – Tessa, Coleson and Reece.

Memorials may be made in her name to Hospice Circle of Love with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.

Condolences and special memories may be shared with the family online at www.Brown-Cummings.com
