Jack Wofford of Tulsa,
Oklahoma, formerly of Stilwell, departed this life on Wednesday, October
1, 2008 at the age of 69.
He was born to Levi Wofford Seabolt and Martha (Hawk) Wofford on August
9, 1939.
Preceding him in death are his
parents, wife Frances, brother Charlie Wofford and sister Viola Wofford
Brown.
His survivors include
siblings; Floella Wofford Swimmer of Tahlequah, Josephine Wofford
Chuculate, Levi Wofford, Jr., and Thomas Wofford, all of Stilwell,
Clayton Wofford of Claremore and Ralph Wofford of Tulsa, stepson, James
Blackwell of Mannford, special friends Linda Deutser and Chris Quillman,
and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Jack served in the United
States Navy during which time he served on the U.S.S. Obannon; he also
served in the United States Army, for a total service of 7 years, 2
months and 25 days. He was a member of the American Legion Post #1
located in Tulsa for 29 years, where he served on the Honor Guard for
over 20 years and was on the executive board four years. He was awarded
a life membership in the American Legion on February 1, 2005 due to his
dedicated service. He was a memober of the Cherokee National Honor
Guard.
Services were held on
Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Moores Memorial Chapel with interment at
Memorial Park Cemetery of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
