Joyce Laverne White, former Tulsa resident, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, in
Tahlequah. She was 89 years of age.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 27, at the Hart Funeral Home
Chapel in Tahlequah. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
Laverne was born on Nov. 23, 1922, in Cushing, the daughter of Harry Benjamin
and Alice (Bridges) Martin. On Feb. 22, 1972, she was married to James Harold
White in Muskogee.
For 25 years she was employed as the office manager for Degan Pipe and Supply.
She was a member in the Memorial Baptist Church, Eastside Senior Citizens, the
sewing guild and the CB Club.
Laverne is survived by a son, Rod Adams of Bastrop, Texas; daughters, Dawn
Miller of Tahlequah and Joyce McKnight of Glenpool; sisters, Bonnie Metcalf of
Louisville, Ky. and Carol Conway of Shawnee; grandchildren, Breanna Batey, Amber
Bloom, Zachary Bloom, Michael Adams, Michelle Mix, Gloria Harms and Denise
McCaslin; and great-grandchildren, Jake Batey, Brennan Batey, Olive Adams, Misha
Adams, Mason Mix and Kayla McCaslin.
She was preceded in death by her husband and brothers, J.C. Martin and Lawrence
Martin.
