The funeral for Ben Voth, 84, founder of Standard Insurance Company, and former resident of Enid, was conducted at 2 PM Saturday in Trinity Episcopal Church at Tulsa.

Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Stanley's Funeral Service there.

A native of Enid, Voth attended Phillips Academy, Indiana University and Columbia University. He then worked as a salesman for the Powers Paper Company at Springfield, Massachusetts, and in 1927 moved to Tulsa where he first sold real estate and then insurance. He founded Standard Insurance in 1944 and sold the firm in 1960. He had also joined Frates Insurance Company as a partner in 1935. Five years later he cofounded Voth and Wright Insurance Agency, which he sold in 1960. He was also vice president of Springfield Fire and Marine Insurance Company of Massachusetts, vice president of Marsh and McClennan Inc., founding chairman of University Computing Company, now Wyly Corp. of Dallas, and most recently, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Swift Ohio Corp., Kenton, Ohio.

Voth was a benefactor of the Holland Hall school and other educational institutions as well as the Performing Arts Center. He served in the Board of Trustees of Hillcrest Medical Center for 17 years and as president from 1964 to 1978.

Voth was also a past president of the board of governors of the Tulsa Club and a trustee of Phillips University, Enid. He was a member of the Metropolitan Tulsa Chamber of Commerce, Trinity Episcopal Church and an underwriting member of the Lloyds of London.

Voth was listed in 'Who's Who in America" and remainED active in business and social activities until his death.

Survivors include two daughters, Suzanne Dilleneck, Locust Valley, New York, and Janet Foote, Dallas, Texas; two brothers, George Voth, Des Moines, Iowa, and Abe Voth, Oklahoma City; one sister, Sue Mortiz, Enid; and six grandchildren.
