Janet Kay (Hardy) Stehr was born August 22, 1950, in Tulsa, OK, to Dr. H. Dwight Hardy, Jr., and Phyllis Joan (Love) Hardy. She went peacefully to the Lord on November 29, 2023, in Arlington, TX, at the age of 73.

Janet attended the University of Oklahoma, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Art and Education. She fed into younger generations through her gift of art as an art teacher. She was an active volunteer in The Women's Shelter, Enid State School, The Junior Welfare League, and the Enid Humane Society. She was very social and loved traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Janet was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a football mom to both of her boys and ALL of their friends. She would never miss a game! Later in life, she kept herself busy in real estate where she continued to meet new friends and took great pride in helping people find their dream homes. After retiring from real estate, she moved to Texas to be closer to her grandchildren. She again found herself immersed in being a sports fan. Only this time it was volleyball! Her largest smiles came when she was around family, especially her three granddaughters. Nothing made her light up more than to hear the three of them call her Grandmommy.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Joan Love Brumfield. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-love, Christopher Ray Stehr and his wife Thressa and William Russell "Rusty" Stehr and his wife Audrey; her brother, H. Dwight Hardy, III; Bonnie Hardy Perry; and her three granddaughters, Meagan Elizabeth, Olivia Rose, and Ruby Love.

Janet will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 6, at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home. Her family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Her funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel.

"For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations." Psalm 100:5
