A Note from The Virtual Wall

The 3rd Tanks SITREP for 30 July 1966 contains the following entry:
"At 300515H [5:15 am, 30 July] 2 Company B tanks at AT906551 with supporting infantry from Bravo 1/9 were attacked by an estimated 20 to 25 VC ... VC fired an estimated 250 rounds of small arms and two RPG-2 anti-tank rockets. Tanks returned 5 rounds of 90mm cannister and 150 rounds of .30 caliber."
The attack resulted in eight VC known dead, Pfc Johnson killed, and two wounded Marines evacuated.
