Virginia Rae "Ginger" Wind

With heavy hearts, we are saddened to announce the passing of Ms. Virginia Rae "Ginger" Wind. Ginger was born August 11, 1947, in Turley, OK to Paul Ottis Wind and Hazel Ruby (Eyman) Wind. She passed away July 27, 2026, in Sapulpa, OK, at the age of 78.

Ginger loved singing old country songs and spending time with those she loved. She loved her food and drinking her pop.

She is survived by brother, Bill Wind and wife, Mary and family; nephews, Larry and Christine Ashlock and family, David Ashlock and partner, Jamie Navarro and family, and Johnny and Many Ashlock and family; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Hazel Wind; sister and brother-in-law, Sherrie and Tom Ashlock; brother, Andy Wind; and grandpa and grandma Eyman.

Family and friends gathered for graveside services to honor Ginger's life on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, OK with Phillip Johnson officiating. Casket bearers were Larry Ashlock, Jordan Ashlock, David Ashlock, Braden Ashlock, Johnny Ashlock and Josh Ashlock. Honorary casket bearers were Brice Ashlock and Andru Ashlock.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry. Online condolences to the family can be made at johnsonsperry.com.
