Burial will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Broken Arrow under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home.
Clara Bell Foster was born September 13, 1924 in Barnsdall, Oklahoma the daughter of Loyd Cecil and Lela Francis (Pinney) Blankenship. Clara died Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Broken Arrow Nursing Home. She was 86 years of age.
The former Miss Clara Bell Blankenship lived in the Coweta/Broken Arrow area for most all of her life. She met Earl D. Foster at a party in the Sunnyside Community and married him on October 3, 1942 in Coweta. They were married for 26 years before Earl preceded her in death in February of 1969. They bought Mrs. Stewarts Flower Shop in 1965 and moved it to Main and Freeport. She sold the flower shop a few years after Earl died. She didn't have much idle time as she would sometimes work 2 to 3 jobs since she didn't sleep much at night. She worked at Honeywell Alarms as an operator and was a night clerk at Drury Inn in Tulsa. She worked in the Sporting Goods Department at Wal Mart while subbing as a Rural Route Mail Carrier in Broken Arrow. She enjoyed growing and arranging flowers, loved the outdoors and had a mechanical mind. She read a lot after retiring to relax. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Coweta.
She was preceded in death by son, Loyd Leon Foster, Brothers, Donald, Loyd, James and sister, Loydean.
