JoAnn was a woman who never met a stranger. She cared about people and always found time for others. She loved her family and was a vigilant prayer warrior on their behalf. Throughout her life she held various occupations, but the ones she treasured most were wife and mother. JoAnn loved the outdoors and taught her children everything from learning to swim to riding a motorcycle. She often regretted how age and disease had robbed her of the ability to do things she cherished, but she never allowed it to keep her from trying. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 grandson; Colton Guy Huston and 1 brother; John Buddy McCowan.
She is survived by a very loving family that includes her husband; Bobby Ray Dodwell of the home in Stilwell, OK., 2 sons; Donald Ray Huston and wife Elaine of Broken Arrow, OK., Rocky Dale Hutzel and wife Sherrie of Leonard, OK., 1 daughter; Kelli Roberts and husband Dean of Stilwell, OK., 3 grandchildren; Kyle, Aaron and Tyler Roberts all of Stilwell, OK., 2 sisters; Jane Davis of Hot Springs, AR., Geraldine Keeney of Stanton, MI, 2 brothers; Kenneth McCowan of Des-Moines, LA., and James McCowan of Grand-Rapids, MI. A host of many family members and friends also survive her.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the New Life Church with Pastor Max Ford and Bro. Victor Paden officiating. Interment followed in the Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, OK., under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
