Mary Opal (Templer) Dickson
Dickson, Mary Opal (Templer), 76, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, May 30, 2005.
Mrs. Dickson was born November 4, 1928 in Comanche, OK. The daughter of John Carl and Irma Vernal [Hilyard] Templer.
She graduated from Chickasha High School in 1948 where she was elected the first girl Sr. Class President.
She married Robert Eugene Dickson on October 14, 1953 in Norman, OK. They moved to Tulsa where they have made their home ever since.
The most important job in her life was raising her children. She believed in teaching them character, honesty and strong value by setting the right example.
She was a member of the Boston Avenue United Methodist Church and the Sertoma Club where she had been honored as Sertoman Of The Year.
Preceded in death by her husband, Gene; her son, Frank Ronald Dickson and her brother George H. Templer.
Survivors; Sons; John Alan Dickson and his wife Elizabeth of Denver, CO and Paul Edward Dickson and his wife Kim of Fayetteville, AR; Grandchildren; Grace, Kristine, Jack and Hunter Dickson; her brothers; John Carl Templer, Jr. of Tulsa and Bill G. Templer of Claremore.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday in the Ninde Woodland Chapel with interment in Floral Haven Cemetery.
