Robert Eugene Genson Sr., age 81 of Purcell, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017 at home, surrounded by family and friends.

He was the oldest of two children, born to William Leonard Genson and Mary Martha Genson. Bob grew up in Toledo, Ohio until the age of 14. He then moved to Tulsa with his father and graduated from Daniel-Webster High School with the class of 1953. Two years later, on June 7, 1955, he married the love of his life, Rosetta Ann Nevel. Together they raised three children, Rob, Teresa, and Mike. Bob enlisted into the U.S. Air National Guard in 1954 and later transferred to the U.S. Air Force in 1957; he proudly served his country for eight years before he was honorably discharged in 1962. Bob started his life-long career working in the petroleum industry as a young man. He lived and worked in various towns in Oklahoma and finally settled in Purcell in 1967. After a 44-year career, he retired from Conoco.

He was preceded in death by parents William and Mary Martha Genson, sister Gladys Juanita Sutton, son-in-law Eddy Jones, and granddaughter Amanda Genson.

He is survived by wife Rosetta Genson of the home, children Rob Genson, Teresa Jones of Washington, Mike Genson and wife Angela Genson of Purcell, seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

A Rosary service will be held 6:00 pm Monday, March 6th at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. A Funeral Mass Service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, March 7th at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Purcell. A committal service will be held 3:30 PM, Tuesday, March 7th at Calvary Cemetery in Tulsa.
