James Burl Preston (B.P.) Hollingsworth was born 13 November 1891 in Smithville (McCurtain County), Oklahoma to Jesse Weston Hollingsworth and Nancy Isabella (Moore) Hollingsworth. He died 08 April 1961 at St.John's Hospital in Tulsa (Tulsa County) Oklahoma. He was 69 years old.
 

B.P. married Allie Ethel Taylor on 31 July 1919 in Moyers (Pushmataha County), Oklahoma.
 

He was a main line engineer for the Gulf Oil Corporation for 36 years, After he retired, he was active in the Tulsa County singing convention and was also the manager of the Democratic convention of the Jenks and Gennpool area.
 

He is survived by his wife, Allie of the home; two sons, Preston Hollingswoth (Tulsa), and Jack Hollingsworth (Welch, Oklahoma); three daughters, Mrs. L.B. Austin (Dewar, Oklahoma), Mrs. F.W. Howard (Tulsa, Oklahoma), and Mrs. Gene Foulke (Nashville, Tennessee); 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and one sister, Mrs. Dovie Jackson, (Castroville, California).
 

Burial will be in the Bixby Cemetery, Bixby, Oklahoma.
