Milton Ralph Meyer, 81, lifelong Texhoma, Texas resident passed away Thursday morning, June 16, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
The son of Henry William Ernest and Irene Leona (Knuth) Meyer, Milton was born December 2, 1940 on the family homeplace in rural Texhoma, Texas. Milton attended the Texhoma school system, graduating with the Class of 1959 and then attended an automotive trade school in Kansas City.
Milton and Michal (Schafer) were united in marriage on January 28, 1961 in Texhoma. He worked as a farmer and rancher and was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he had served as an elder. Milton had also served as a school board member for the Texhoma, Texas school.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Ernest Meyer, Irene Meyer Lavake and step-father, Charlie “Chick” Lavake; one son, Ernest Meyer, one granddaughter, Michaela McGuire, two brothers: Dale Meyer and Jimmie Meyer; and one sister, Norma Greinke.
Survivors include his wife, Michal Meyer of the home; four children - daughter, Shelly and husband, Willy Worley of Amarillo, Texas, son, Jeff Meyer and wife, Kasey of Texhoma, Texas, daughter, Audra and husband, Jeff Tanquary of Texhoma, Texas and son, James Meyer of Texhoma, Texas; one brother, Vincent Meyer of Kingsland, Texas; sister-in-law, Joyce Meyer of Edmond, Oklahoma; thirteen grandchildren and their spouses; twelve great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, June 21st at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Texhoma with Pastor Thomas House officiating. Interment will follow at the Texhoma Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Milton’s name can be made to the Texhoma Cemetery Fund, Parkinson’s Foundation or to a charity of choice and will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942.
