Alla Jo (Ravia) Meyer, 98, longtime Texhoma, Oklahoma resident passed away Sunday morning, April 3, 2022 at the Beaver County Nursing Home in Beaver, Oklahoma.
The daughter of Cleve and Josephine (Hanson) Ravia, she was born on March 18, 1924 in Griggs, Oklahoma. Alla Jo attended the Texhoma schools, graduating with the Class of 1942. She was an active member of the First Christian Church in Texhoma. Alla Jo loved her church, her family, traveling, teaching bible studies, visiting with her friends and playing bridge and dominoes.
Alla Jo was united in marriage to Dale L. Meyer on August 15, 1943 in Texhoma after 12 years in school together. Alla Jo attended Panhandle State University, receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech in 1970. Alla Jo and Dale lived on the family farm west of Texhoma, where they raised the boys, and farmed until 1981. Dale and Alla Jo moved to Texhoma in 1965.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Dale L. Meyer; parents, Cleve and Josephine; brother Cleve Hanson Ravia; three sisters, Letha Lucas, Ellen Harvey and Cecile McClellan, all of Dumas, Texas; and a grandson, Michael.
Survivors include her three sons: Alan Meyer and wife, Cynthia of Las Vegas, Nevada, Ross Meyer and wife, Brianna J of Canadian, Texas, and Neal Meyer and wife, Julie of Edmond, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren: Angela, Lauren, Spencer, Gavin, Ron, Amy, and Aaron; and fifteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday afternoon, April 8th at 2:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Texhoma with Pastor Matt Maples officiating. Interment will follow in the Texhoma Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
The Meyer family suggest that memorials in memory of Alla Jo be made to the First Christian Church. Memorials will be accepted at the church or the Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942. Friends can sign the online guest book and leave condolences at www.bunchroberts.com.
