Robert Joseph Gore, 83, passed away Thursday evening, January 26, 2023 at his home in Texhoma, Oklahoma.
The son of Worth and Maycle Almenia (Royse) Gore, he was born February 25, 1939 at the homeplace north of Texhoma.
Bob returned to Texhoma from Elk City, Oklahoma in 1986. He was married to Beverly June Meredith on June 6, 1958 in Santa Rosa, New Mexico, she preceded him in death on July 28, 2007.
Bob was a farmer, truck driver, auto mechanic and for many years he kept Texhoma mowed. He was a member of the Texhoma First Christian Church. Bob was a hardworking family man, he loved his family and community.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beverly; son, Sherman Gore and siblings: Almenia Huddleston, Jack Gore, Guy Gore, Mike Gore, Howard Gore, Leroy Gore, Pauline Smith, Jewel Renner, Lucille Ingle, Billy Wayne Gore and Ray Gore.
Survivors include four children: Kimberly Hancock of Texhoma, Texas, Robert Gore of Elk City, Oklahoma, Patty Lawrence of Pocola, Oklahoma and Kristy Gore-Leibowitch of Texhoma, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren: Cody, Casey, Cassie, Summer, Sherman Jr., Jonathan, Nathan and Logan; four great grandchildren: McKenzie, Alex, Rae and Joe, and two great great grandchildren: Ava and Zaylynn. Survivors also include five siblings: Ola Mae Rhoden, Perry Gore, Jerry Gore, Mary Farmer-Wiebe and Billy Don Oldaker.
Family visitation will be Thursday evening, February 2nd between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon, February 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at the Texhoma First Christian Church with Pastor Matt Maples officiating Interment will follow in the Texhoma Cemetery.
